Volunteer FAQ

Volunteers are the root of The Giving Tree Consignment.  Being a Volunteer allows you to shop before anyone else, and if you’re a consignor, it also earns you more money!
We want to hear from you! Please email us with any questions.

Q. Who can sign up as a Volunteer and attend the Volunteer presale?

A. Anyone can volunteer as long as he or she is 18 years of age or older.  It is a first-come first-serve basis. You do not have to be a Consignor to volunteer.  For more information or to sign up, visit our Volunteer Info page.

Q. How long do I need to volunteer?

A. One volunteer shift is 3 hours.

Q. What will I do when I volunteer?

A.  Volunteers help set-up the sale, check-in Consignors, assist during the sale, sort unsold merchandise for pick-up and tear-down after the sale. You choose the time and shift that works best for you.  Visit our Volunteer Descriptions page for more information.

Q. Why should I volunteer?

A. Volunteers are invited to attend our private VIP Presale and get to shop first, scoring the best deals.  In addition, if you Consign and Volunteer you earn more money.  Please see our Volunteer Info page for more information.

Q. Do you have childcare for Volunteers?

A. Unfortunatly, no. For safety reasons, please do not bring any children with you to your volunteer shift.

Q. Can my husband/partner or friend work instead of me?

A. Absolutely!  We will always welcome some extra muscle, especially during our set-up and tear-down shifts.

Q. Is my pass valid for me AND my friends?

A. VIP Presale passes are valid for you and ONE guest.  We ask the guest to please bring $5 or 5 non-perishables to donate to the local food pantry.

Q. How do I sign up to volunteer?

A. You can sign up to volunteer using our easy online system. Click here to register and choose your shifts.

Q. What should I wear to volunteer?
